REACHING FOR ZERO
We are adding approximately 50 billion tons of GHGs to the atmosphere each year, much of it in the form of CO2. In order to fix the problem we need to, first, stop adding to the problem, and second, reverse the damage that we have already done.
What does this mean? Currently, the level of CO2 in the atmosphere is more than 400 ppm (parts per million). It should be approximately 280 ppm if we are to get back to a balanced state of the carbon dioxide cycle. This would "reset" our climate and avert the disaster of climate change/crisis.
Our first goal is go from 50 billion tons to zero tons of human-created GHGs per year. Hence, our name "Reaching For Zero".
